A message from Greg Cero to the community:

Mound Time officially went into business in Oregon in May 2005. But in reality, Mound Time was formed and running long before that. I started instruction for youth in Portland in the summer of 2000. I worked as a manager and pitching instructor for Westview High School Legion Teams during my summers at home from college. But it was in 2005 when Mound Time came together in an organized fashion for all those players.

Today, Mound Time provides structured instruction for thousands of youth in the Portland Metro area. For many families, Mound Time is a place to send their child to gain education on a specific aspect of the game of baseball. But whether a child comes to acquire hitting expertise or improve running mechanics, we want to give something even more important – confidence. At Mound Time, it is our goal to instill confidence in our athletes - both in baseball and in life. This arms kids for the future challenges like getting into college, holding a job, or making good life decisions.

I use the game of baseball to reach kids and give back what so many people gave and continue to give me. Of course, not every child is meant to play professional sports or even high school sports. But if we can encourage students to reach their potential, then we’ve accomplished a very good thing. Many kids never get the opportunity to be competently instructed or receive dedicated mentoring in athletics during this crucial stage of development.  Unfortunately, many don’t realize this until it’s too late.

If we can help extend a student-athlete’s playing career by a season or two, that’s a win for kids and parents. Perhaps it will be the difference in a young person’s staying in school and graduating, or landing a great job because of outstanding work ethic. Whatever the reason, we’re proud to give children the best opportunity possible playing baseball.  Our ultimate goal is to support confident, productive, enthusiastic young adults.   We value the opportunity to work with your child as they progress through this great game.
