Fall Instructional League

Spring Training… but for the fall.

Making the fall worth your time.

2010 Fall Ball team Specifically designed to cater to football, soccer, or baseball-only players for the fall.

Goals:

To not waste the fall just so families can say “we played fall ball.”  We want your child to come 1-3 days a week (depending on football/fall sports) during the last week in August to the 2nd week in October and get something out of fall.  We will play games, but not 'til late September.  We spend the entire fall out on fields and inside Mound Time if it's raining.  We have stations and workout groups to BUILD SKILL DEVELOPMENT to help set routines to MAKE THEM A BETTER PLAYER.

In typical fall programs, kids will show up for games only and old habits stay with them through the fall… thus the player wastes time on getting ready for next spring.  You have to ask the question… “Do wins and losses REALLY matter in the fall?  Or is it more about my child improving for the spring?”

FACT:  Showing up to a typical fall ball game 1 time a week with no practices is A) not healthy for your son's arm and B) doesn't give him efficient time to work on things to prepare for a game setting.  Thus the bad habits stay with your son.

FACT:  A player with a poor swing isn't going to get better in game situations only.  He needs workout time… but workouts with people who know exactly what to teach and what's supposed to happen.  This will save time for the player in the long run.  This applies to throwing, pitching, running, hitting, and fielding.

Last year, 200 players participated in Mound Time's Fall Instructional League and all the feedback was positive.  People love the idea of using the fall to work on things for NEXT spring vs. “getting in games” just for the sake of it.

Topics covered:

Hitting mechanics, pitch selection, bunting, hitting situations, throwing mechanics, pitching mechanics, grips, conditioning of the arm, infield work, outfield work, base running, proper game management, what high school coaches look for in a player, rotator cuff, speed and agility training, and anything else your son may have questions about.

Classes and prices:

  • Age groups are 8-10, 11-12, 13-14
